非线性偏微分方程的理论及应用。研究具有生物、物理、化学和流体动力学等应用科学背景的非线性发展偏微分方程（包括反应扩散模型、粘性守恒律模型、双曲松弛模型等）行波解、平衡解的存在性和稳定性；研究人脑医学图像处理与分析中的数学建模与应用。
